ACT members honored at Insight Prison Project's Annual 'Beyond the Bars' Celebration!

Insight Prison Project held it's always inspiring BEYOND THE BARS celebration at the Golden Gate Club last night. One of ACT's founders, Philip "Big Deal Phil" Melendez, was honored with the Above & Beyond Award for all the incredible social justice work he did while incarcerated, which he has continued since coming home. ACT's Executive Director, Billie Mizell, was asked to lead a conversation with the remarkable Richard Cabral of American Crime and The Mayans fame. And sparkling ACT graduate Senoj Journi Jones kicked off the evening with her brilliant spoken word piece and original song. ACT members are pictured above with Ear Hustle host Earlonne Woods.
